Leaving (closed rp)
« on: July 31, 2012, 03:14:09 PM »
The tired deity lays on the floor of her hollow, staring at the cloudless sky above. She has been in this position for several hours now in deep thought. Owl considers the thought of leaving the forest she has known to be her only home and her world until she met a child several years back. This hasn't been the first time she considered doing this. Tonight is among many where she had pondered her existence and the outside world. Of course, fear would chase away those dangerous thoughts whenever they came wondering. However, there was one night where she did attempt to leave the forest, but something kept calling her back to the forest. She didn't know what it could be that held a firm grip of her then. Even now, the owl deity is unsure. She pulls herself up into a sitting position and pulls her knees to her chest, resting her head rest on her arms. Her wings twitch constantly, and feathers are continuously ruffle for whatever reason. Something kept calling her deeper into the forest, which she has disobeyed several times. The creature isn't sure if she's going insane or not, but it doesn't matter at the moment. The voice eventually goes away after a few failed attempts.

Owl moves out of her spot on the hollow floor and onto the bedding near the curved walls of the tree. She gently pulls out a broken music box her human companion had given her before suddenly disappearing one day. A talon traces the elaborate design on the lid, which allows her to push aside the voice and focus on her own thoughts. She sighs and places the box onto her lap. How she misses those days with the little girl who would keep her company for a short time. Owl couldn't help the feeling of loneliness, considering she has yet found a being that is similar to her in the parts of the forest she explored other than the usual wildlife. The deity suddenly decides she shall attempt to flee the forest and its odd influence on her. She grabs the music box and holds it tightly to her chest as she creeps out of the hollow. Her wings start twitching once more but forces the urge to take flight. The forest is simply too dense to take off. She will have to wait until she's in the less dense parts before taking off.

Deep within the confines of these accursed woods a feral blue dragoness walked tentively about.  Having landed in this domain not too long ago to simply rest from a long journeys flight whereupon she was only halfway back to her domain, she began to regret coming here.  The forest was indeed lush and filled with plenty of animals to prey upon, the trees themselves were too closed in, making her six story frame feel beyond cramped.  Being too exhausted to even tempt it, the dragoness could not even shift into her anthro form until she had proper rest to restore some of the spent energy.

Growling a draconic curse as a low hanging tree proceeded to lodge itself between her shoulder and wing limb, Safyras with a heavy pull of her wing ripped the tree from the ground with a loud groan as it crashed to the ground below.  A feathers drifted down, having been pulled from the small pine tree.

The sky was turning a multitude of pastel pinks and purples, indicating the sun was beginning to go to the edge of the horizon, ushering in the night.  Glaring upwards at the waning sky, Safyras gave a subtle growl as she looked around at the small clearing that barely could fit her girth.  This would have to do, her mind clicked into place as she with a great huff, laid down, tucking her claws underneath her front. she curled her tail tightly around her much like a resting feline.

Dozing off even if the nights embrace was the time she usually was fully awake and alert, the dragoness needed sleep before being able to continue onward with her journey home.  In a matter of a few moments, she slept, not soundly nor deeply, but enough to gain a few winks of slumber before something or someone happened upon her large form.

Owl wasn't having much luck of find her way out of the dense part of the forest. For some reason, she didn't remember the foliage being this thick. The foliage made the everything appear darker than it should. She couldn't help the shiver running down her spine as she continues to cautiously walk through the heavily rooted ground. With a tightening hold on her music box, Owl manages to not trip on any root. How deep is she in the forest? She doesn't remember the trees being so close to one another that the roots were literally entangled with one another. She must have wondered aimlessly before, but she can't recall ever doing so.

The deity keeps a keen eye on the shadows with all four ears listening intently to her surroundings. The voice comes and goes as she forces herself to focus on getting out of the denser part of the forest. Owl had to, or she will get lost in the dark, which wouldn't be good for her.

*apologies for the wee post.*

Safyras laid there within the denseness of the woods, eyes half open as she skimmed the surroundings for the fifth time.  She disliked being on the ground in such a unfamiliar setting.   Eyes half lidded, the dragoness finally, slowly, ever so slowly, shut them, and withing a few moments Safyras was fast asleep.

All around critters avoided her, giving her a wide berth.  The only thing heard for many yards was the deep rumble of her breath as she exhaled.  Much like a heart beat it seemed to pulse in the darkness, giving a soft thrum all around that echoed in the night air.

The deity stops dead in her tracks when she sees some forest critters running in the opposite direction of her. The little event confuses her, but she presses on with determination of getting out of the forest. Owl isn't going to be a prison of her own home now...At least she hopes. She only keeps her mind focused on the memories with her human companion and the music box.

The forest seems to go on forever with its endless darkness. Of course, she did take note of the trees seem less compacted now. It didn't matter that much though since she can still sense that she is deep in the forest. Owl keeps going forward in the direction she thinks is her way out, wary of each step. A large mass stops her progress by blocking her path completely. She isn't sure what this massive thing could be and isn't certain of how to get around it. She freezes when she hears the breathing all of a sudden.

There Safyras slept, soundly and peaceful.  Her ears twitched faintly as her subconcious was taking in all sounds, ready to wake her in a instant when something or someone neared to close to the slumbering dragon.  Eyes shut, the dragoness was unaware of the nearing deity that roamed the woods in a lost staggering manner.

As she slept, dreams plagued her minds eye, her claws digging deep furrows into the ground as she dreamed of sinking the very claws into fresh meat before feasting on the still hot innards of her prey.  Her tail thrashed briefly side to side, the metallic tail blade glinting in the moonlight for a few moments before the tail resettled itself in a still position curled around her body once more.

As the night came onto the woods, the dragoness slept, the blue metallic hide of hers shimmering in the moon's embrace.

Owl looks for a route around the slumbering beast, but she isn't able to point one out. It's simply too dark. There could be only one way to get around the beast, and that would be to climb over the massive thing. The deity was about to take a step towards the beast when a thought struck her, stopping her advance. She could just fly over the creature. Of course, she wouldn't be able to get through the limbs without having to abandon her precious music box. She wouldn't be able to carry it in her other form either. All four ears flatten at the thought of leaving her only treasure behind. It just couldn't be, so the deity decides to take the other route instead. Just very carefully.

She lightly walks towards the sleeping form in front of her, taking her time, so she wouldn't make too much noise. When she nears the creature, Owl spreads her wings and lifts off the ground a couple of feet. She lands on the creature's back with ease, making sure she lands without a sound. The deity keeps all ears perk up and alert to any movement as she slowly makes her way across. She stills for a moment when she hears some thrashing in the darkness around her, frighten that she may waken the creature. When nothing else moves, the owl continues her journey over the beast.
